Popes' Palace -
The biggest and most beautiful gothic palace in the world was the residence of the Sovereign Pontiffs during the 14th century. The visit includes 25 rooms: courtyard, cloister, reception halls, chapels, and private papal apartments with its priceless frescoes. In the summertime you can also see exhibitions.

Pont d'Avignon (Pont St. Benezet) - Built during the 12th century, it was destroyed in 1226 at the time of the Albigensian Crusades and then later rebuilt. The bridge was often damaged by raging flood waters, and finally abandoned in the 17th century. The UNESCO has classified the Pope's Palace and the St. Benezet, bridge as world heritage sites.

One hour cruise on the Rhone River (April-Oct) - Take a round trip from Avignon to Barthelasse Island. Villeneuve to discover the St. Benezet bridge, the Popes' Palace, the Rochers des Doms, and the monuments of Villeneuve-les-Avignon, medieval town located in front of Avignon, on the other bank: the Fort St. Andre and the Tour Philippe Le Bel.

Three course dinner at a gastromic restaurant without drinks.

*This is not an escorted tour. Using an audio guide, you will make your way to the different places (which are a walking distance from the inner city).

Cooking in Provence

Option 1 - Avignon + Chateauneuf-du-Pape

8:00am: Appointment in a charming restaurant located in the centre of Avignon. (you will make your own way to the restaurant.) Meet and greet by the Chef and registration of the trainees. Creation of the recipe cards to be preformed. (Theoretical demonstration with practice.) During the Aperitif, various ideas and comments eill be exchanged about the course. Your will learn how you can accommodate the meal with wine
Lunch (drinks included) with the Chef and informal talk.

3:00 pm: pick up by minibus. Your English speaking driver/guide will take you to the wine road. Wine-tasting in a cellar in Tavel, first Rose wine in France, or in Beaumes-de-Venise, exceptional soil located at the foot of the majestic Dentelle de Montmirail and the Mont Ventoux. Continue to Chateauneuf-du-Pape for wine-tasting in a cellar, called the 13 vine-plant's country. In each cellar, you will discover the history of the house and the guide or the wine owner will offer you a visit of the winery with explanations about the harvest, the AOC Cotes du Rhones.

7:00pm: drop off at hotel.

Option 2 - Venasque

9:00 am: Pick up at the hotel by a private vehicle and a friendly English speaking driver/ licensed guide.

Enjoy an intimate cooking class in the tiny kitchen of a Auberge in Venasque, to explore the fundamentals of Mediterranean cooking, marring flavours, utilizing the best foods from the markets, respecting the great French traditions.

Lunch (drinks included)

Visit of Roussillon, famous for its red and yellow ochre cliffs, an unusual natural landscape. Visit Gordes, perched village in Luberon, one of the most beautiful villages in France, completely made with dry stones.

6:00pm: back to hotel

Option 3 - St. Remy de Provence

9:00 am: Pick up at the hotel by a private vehicle and a friendly English speaking driver/ licensed guide.

Cooking lesson followed by a lunch (drinks included) in a 4-Star hotel in St. Remy de Provence located in a six hectares parc. between laurels, hundred-year-old-trees, rosebushes, olive trees, and lavender, a place bathed by serenity. An old mas, a facade stone, a garden in thousand colors.

A gastronomic restaurant displays its creations that are often renewed under the influence of our inspirations, the seasons and the produce of our garden or market.

Visit of les Baux de Provence, village set upon a rock at 245 meters high. In the spectacular historical center: the museum of santons, the Hotel des Porcelets, beautiful 16th century houses, the St. Vincent Church.

Continue to Saint Remy de Provence and stop at the Antiques (Triumphal Arch and Funeral Monument) among olive trees, landscape painted several times by Van Gogh.

6:00pm: back to hotel.
